Personal Thoughts:

It’s definitely not a sequel, which can be a good thing. There is less cheesy old school bit graphicness, which helped define the original Terraria.. Also, this seems to focus a bit more on some big story and your role in it, rather than the self-entrepreneur exploits of the original.  The tones and atmosphere in this tears implies a somewhat darker feel. Overall, Otherworld could take some time getting used to for hardcore Terraria fans (I am more of a casual).

So this is something of a side story, or spinoff. But often that implies a game that is not as large or grand as the original. Perhaps in the next “teaser,” we can raise our expectations. Hopefully, Otherworld will be as grand and expansive in gameplay as the original. For now, let us anticipate..
