What it’s about:
Homeworld was a real-time strategy computer game originally released 15 years ago published by Sierra Entertainment, developed by Relic Entertainment. The Cataclysm came out shortly after. The Homeworld 2 sequel came out in 2003. This current trailer is a remaster of the complete collection coming out soon on February 25, 2015 for the PC and Steam system.
Here is more from the official site www.homeworldremastered.com:
“The Homeworld games have been painstakingly re-mastered with key members of the original development team and taking critical influence and assistance from the passionate fan community. The Homeworld Remastered Collection introduces Relic’s acclaimed space strategy games Homeworld and Homeworld 2 to modern players and operating systems using the newest sophisticated graphics rendering technology, plus a fully remastered score and new, high fidelity voice recordings by the original actors.”
Personal Thoughts:
Being a real time strategy (RTS) game fan, and appreciation of story driven PC games, this has my interest. I never had the time or chance to play the originals. But something of this appeals to me, both in the story and gameplay. The combat strategy involving a complex 3-D system looks almost cinematic. The colors are vibrant and gives the look and feel a very unique feel to it. The music also works well, and a nice complement to the smooth voice acting done. I would like to eventually check this out.
